From Muhamma (Kayippuram)
The nearest jetty, on the Alappuzha side of the lake. Our boats leave from Kayippuram Jetty in Muhamma.
From Alappuzha
By speedboat, or about 1.5 hours by motorboat. Many visitors fold it into a houseboat cruise.
From Kumarakom
Boats run from the Kumarakom jetty and resorts. Pairs well with the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary.
Agree the return time with your boatman before you leave. On our trips we drop you and pick you up from the island.
By rail and air
Getting to Kayippuram Jetty
- Nearest railway station: Cherthala. It is the closest station to Muhamma and Kayippuram Jetty. Alappuzha station is about 16 km away.
- Nearest airport: Cochin International (COK), about 85 km north of Alappuzha.
- By road: use Google Maps to Kayippuram Boat Jetty, Muhamma.
